Tenure Approved for 29 Faculty

MACOMB, IL — Twenty-nine Western Illinois University faculty members were granted tenure by the WIU Board of Trustees at the Board’s June 5 meeting.
Tenure requests were submitted by President Al Goldfarb based on an extensive evaluation process at the department, college and University levels regarding the faculty member’s teaching, research and service activities.

Faculty members granted tenure, effective August 2009, are: David Banash, English and journalism; Lee L. Brice, history; Jason A. Conner, theatre and dance; Janna L. Deitz, political science; Clayton Ray Diez, engineering technology; C. Bradley Dilger, English and journalism; Steven I. Dworkin, psychology; Sunita George, geography; Jeffrey Hancks, University Libraries; Robert J. Hironimus-Wendt, sociology and anthropology; Mark D. Hoge, agriculture; Penelope Kelsey, English and journalism; Emran W. Khan, law enforcement and justice administration; Lloyd C. Kilmer, educational leadership; Christopher R. Kovacs, kinesiology; James G. La Prad, educational and interdisciplinary studies; David J. Lane, psychology; Holly J. Nikels, counselor education; Damon McArthur, art; Alice A. Melkumian, economics; Richard O. Musser, biological sciences; Brian D. Peer, biological sciences; William J. Polley, economics; William F. Pratt, School of Engineering; Christopher A.
