(East Peoria, IL) — Police officers in East Peoria, Illinois, say Billy Robinson is the “dumbest criminal” they’ve ever seen. Police say a woman caught Robinson in her driver’s seat trying to hot-wire her car. She told Robinson that she had called police and that she wanted him to “follow her” and wait for officers.
Amazingly enough, Robinson did start to walk with the woman, but then bolted. East Peoria Police Chief Ed Papis says Robinson walked into the police station a little while later asking for money for a bus ticket out of town. The officer at the desk immediately recognized Robinson.
