WIU Homecoming Campus Competition Wrap-up

MACOMB, IL – - Western Illinois University celebrated its Homecoming, “All Around the World,” with weeklong activities and group competitions, as well as with the annual Parade and football game Homecoming Day Oct. 17.

The WIU Homecoming Royalty Court was introduced at halftime of the Homecoming game vs. Missouri State, which the Missouri State Bears won 17-16 on a last-minute field goal. WIU’s Homecoming King and Queen, Delmar Dade (Round Lake, IL) and Melissa Downin (Table Grove, IL), were led by Grand Marshal Jason Williams, who is a former WIU football player drafted this year by the Dallas Cowboys.

Student organizations competed in several events throughout Homecoming Week within three categories: residence halls, large organizations and small organizations.

The Boat Regatta event was cancelled due to weather; however, the event is planned for Spring 2010.
