WIU Paleobiologist on New Dinosaur Discovery Team
MACOMB, IL–A new dinosaur discovered in South Africa – - named Aardonyx, meaning “earth claw” – - is shedding light on the origins of the biggest dinosaurs ever, the sauropods, said Matthew Bonnan, Ph.D., associate professor of biology at Western Illinois University who is part of the discovery team.

Paint the Paws Oct. 30
MACOMB, IL – — On Friday, Oct. 30, the Student Alumni Association (SAA) at Western Illinois University will host Paint the Paws. The event was postponed earlier this month due to inclement weather. Paint the Paws is the event during which WIU students, alumni, faculty and staff help repaint the Leathernecks’ Paws along University Drive and Western Avenue.
